Nicholas nodded. "Lovely."

Brit smiled, "lets see if we can get the flavoring done before we need to check the rat again."

"Okay," he agreed, "we can get working then."

Brit walked back over to the table and picked up a few more chemicals. "Thank you for coming last night."

"Sure," he smiled. "Glad I could be there."

Brit smiled. "And I am sorry for the way Loren behaved, you were right."

He laughed. "No need to apologize. I get it."

She shook her head, "I don't." Brit looked down at the file.

"He likes you. He sees you working with me a lot and is jealous that he doesn't get to spend as much time with you. Perhaps he thinks that I would like to spend more time with you, outside of work." He tried to tip toe around the last issue, he wasn't sure how she would take it.

"Would you?" she asked, glancing up at him.

"I think you're a lot of fun, but you're my boss, and I'm not... uh," he ran a hand through his hair. "I'm not really looking for a romantic relationship at the moment. Sort of focused on work."

Brit nodded, "that's good, to be focused on work." She looked back at the file. "It's easier that way."

He nodded and looked at the chemicals in front of him. "So strawberry?"

"Yes," she combined a few chemicals and smelled it. "It kind of smells right. Should it be red?"

"Yeah, or like, pink?" he suggested.

"Pinks better," she walked over to the refrigerator to get another chemical. "How's the rat look?"


ooc: the rat can die

ooc: I don't want the rat to die. I have a thing MJ and I were talking about doing when the serum is ready. Is that okay?

ooc. Sure! what are you planning on doing?

ooc: It was going to involve my character Audrey, who is being held by the union. Her getting the serum and all that fun stuff =]

Nicholas walked over to the cage. "It's looking good. Let me just do the blood test."

Ooc: cool!

"I'll hold it still," Brit offered. She opened the cage and held the rat, being careful to avoid looking at the needle.

He took the blood and set it under the microscope again. "It's looking good," he said, offering her the eye piece.

Brit looked, "you're right." She stepped back. "I'll have to tell Loren it's almost ready for texting."

Nicholas nodded, but he was chewing on the inside of his lip. This wasn't good. If it went through testing, then he would have to do something drastic.

"Why don't we call it a day," Brit said a little while later. "We can work more tomorrow."

Nicholas nodded. "Sounds fantastic." He tossed out his gloves and took off his jacket.

Brit pulled her gloves off and started turned the computers off. "I'll see you tomorrow morning then, at the usual time."

"Of course," he nodded, then pulled on his own coat. "I'll see you tomorrow," he smiled.

Brit smiled as she picked up her tear cup to take back to her apartment. "Have a good night."

"You too," he nodded, then left.

Brit finished cleaning up then locked the doors and headed to her apartment.

Loren had called it a bit of an early day his outburst had alerted security and they suggested he go cool off away from everyone else. he had obliged after a bit and had hit the home gym hard. the music was loud and the sweat was practically dripping off of him. the anger drove him to hit the bag harder and longer than he had expected to when he started.

Tevon had spent the day sparing and sorting and canvasing the new place. he liked it. there was room for everyone and even potential to figure out how to get internet service. he grinned at that thought. he would love to have access 24/7.

Brit cleaned up her apartment after work and had finished cleaning up from dinner. She pulled the file about her parents murder out of her closet and read it then reread it. It didn't seem posible the Diana had killed them but what would Xander gain by lying to her.

Athena had spent the rest of the day exploring and mapping the new base. She had found a room that would work as a training room and a new bedroom for her, which ment she no longer had to share.

Since the mapping was handled, River spent the rest of her day planning, figuring out the next move. Once they heard from Nicholas, they might have a better idea what they were working against.

Nicholas went home and tried not to think about what had occurred. Had he given them the formula? How was he supposed to know? He would have to sabotage it, he would have to do something to keep it from working.

Night settled in but down in the bunker it didn't seem any different, :not sure I'm going to get used to this fake light all day thing." Tevon mused at dinner

Keller was allowed to clean up and was given a new set of clothing. he finally felt almost human again. the meal they provided was similar to the others but he was still surprised every time they brought it in. he could hardly wrap his mind around an entire t bone steak but his stomach had no problem consuming every ounce of it.

Holding the bag his knuckles bruised from the hours of wailing on it Loren took a deep breath. he needed to calm down. another deep breath. it was an honest mistake. shaking his head he unwrapped his hand and started the tea kettle. he needed to calm down

"You will," Athena said as she sat down near Tevon. "It'll take some time but you will. We all had to get used to it."

"Plus we get more of this fake sunlight than they get of the real stuff. So really, in the end, we win." August grinned as he sat next to Tevon.

"Thats one way to look at it," Tevon shrugged, "so Athena, you have a boyfriend?" he asked

Athena laughed then looked from Tevon to August then back. "You're serious?" She shook her head, "no, I don't."

"Is that such a crazy idea?" he asked

"For me, yes." She took a bite of her food. "My job doesn't leave room for a relationship."
