"you like her?" Tevon asked following August out and down the hall

Athena sat down and took a sip of her water. "He's still learning, and he looked like he could use a win."


Brit nodded. "We'll check the blood every hour unless the rat appears ill."

"Nah," August shook his head. They got in line for food. "Why? You looking for a girlfriend?"

River nodded. "True. And you probably did quite a bit for his self esteem. But next time, take him down. I don't want him getting cocky."

"Right." Nicholas agreed. "Sounds good."

he shrugged, "it would be nice you know. have someone to care about more than the rest or whatever."

ooc: off for a few hours be back by 3 or so (its 12:44 my time right now.)

"Sure," he agreed. "Be careful though, she could probably break you over her knee."

ooc: kk! see ya!

Athena nodded, "will do. Have you heard anything new from Nicholas?"


Brit walked over to the fridge and pulled out a little container, she took the lid off and put it in the rat's cage. "He might get hungry."

"Not recently," River replied. "Last we heard there were some big projects he was close to, he was going to try to sabotage them."

"Good thinking," Nicholas agreed.

Athena nodded, "how much longer do you think he'll be gone?"


"Let's get this started," she said as she walked back to the table. "Maybe we can get the supplements done today."

"you think she's out of my league don't you." Tevon said with a chuckle

"I don't think she's really in anyone's league," August replied with a shrug.

"Until the job is done," River replied. "He's a good operative. We'll keep him there until he's not needed."

"Hopefully," Nicholas agreed, hands busy with the chemicals.

Athena nodded, "will he know how to find us when he's done?" Some how she didn't think he would ever not be needed.

A half hour later Brit was holding a test tube filled with a neon yellow liquid. "It smells citrusy, but I don't know how it will taste. I thought the color might make kids drink it."

"He'll get in contact," River assured her.

"Good thinking," he agreed. "Bottoms up, I guess," he motioned to the vial.

Athena nodded then took a bite of her food. "What's the plan for today?"


She poured half of the liquid into another vial and handed it to him. "You have to try it to."

"I want everything organized by the end of the day," River replied. "The food is mostly done, but this place is large and I need people to explore and map the whole thing. I don't want people getting lost in here."

Nicholas took the vial and saluted her with it. "Salut," he cheered and took the drink. His mouth puckered, it was very sour.

"Alright, I can organize groups to explore the rest of the areas," Athena offered.

Brit set her empty vial down, coughing. "That's disgusting."

"That would be helpful," River agreed.

"Yeah. It definitely needs more work," he agreed.

"For mapping it might be easiest if we color code areas. We have some paint, we could put a little paint on the walls," Athena suggested.


Brit nodded, "it needs to be sweeter. And maybe not so yellow."

"Good," River agreed. "Sounds like a good plan."

"If we decrease the amount of flavor, it might be much better," he suggested.

Tevon chuckled as they sat down at a table with their food, "you sweet on anyone?" he asked as he took a mouthful of beans

"Not at the moment," he replied.

"I noticed that River and Greg seem to be close." he took another mouth full, "am I asking too many questions. I just like to know where people stand you know."

"They are," August nodded. "They've been, uh, close, since they started this."

"its nice to know that romance of some kind isn't totally dead with the invasion."

August nodded. "They've been together for a while."

Tevon nodded and shoveled the rest of his food in.

"You have a girlfriend before the union came in?"

he shrugged, " not really. not many girls found a computer geek very attractive. you?"

"Never been one for relationships," he shrugged.

"you a hit it and quit it guy?" he asked scraping up the last scraps from his plate

"On occasion," he shrugged. "I guess I'm just not really interested in it much."

tevon didn't quite understand that but he just shrugged. to each their own

Athena nodded, "I'll get teams together after everyone eats."

"We can try that," Brit agreed. "We could also try a different flavor."

"Wonderful," River nodded. "I need to go make sure work is being done on the organizing. If anyone gives you trouble about the work, send them to me."

"What did you have in mind?" Nicholas asked.

Athena nodded, "will do. Maybe we'll find a new training room."


"Strawberry?" Brit suggested

"We can hope," River agreed. She stood and took her plates away. 

"Sounds good," he agreed. "Should we check on the rat?"

Athena finished her food and stood to dispose of her trash. "I'll get the paint ready," she said to River.


"Yeah, can you take blood again?" she asked

"Great, I know I can count on you," River nodded.

Nicholas agreed and grabbed the needle and vial.

Athena smiled, "I'll see you later then."


Brit carefully held the rat between her hands, it wasn't moving as much as it had been an hour ago.

River gave a terse nod, then left. 

Nicholas took the blood and took it to the microscope. "Take a look, but it looks better, more normal."

Brit looked at the blood sample for a minute then nodded. "It does look better but we'll keep monitoring the rat and checking the blood."
