"Bye," she said quietly. Sam walked out and headed for her car. She wanted to get drunk and just forget but she couldn't. She had to keep him safe and stopping Nikki seemed like the only way

ooc: I also think she might be jumping to conclusions. so that's sad too

Jeff watched her go then turned his attention reluctantly to the cackling girls

ooc: yeah, but she's emotional


Sam drove home, trying not to think to much. She walked into her apartment and slammed the door. The back up plan was to stop Nikki, but she knew it wasn't going to be easy.

"Why don't we go out? Go do something," Jaimie suggested.
Sasha smiled. "Yes, let's do that."
Jaimie turned to Braden. "What about you? Want to do something better than waiting around?"

Jarid looked at Paige quizzically. "What do you mean?"

"This, us making out." she said. "I don't want to keep stopping."

her smiled, " Sounds like a plan." he was realizing how every day he spent with them it became more natural to sign everything he said, "what do you ladies have in mind?"

Carl knocked on her door. he was nervous for some reason

ooc; MJ, did you mean Jeff instead of Braden?

ooc: no I mean Carl....I fixed it

Jarid sighed. "Yeah. Yah I see what you mean."

"The zoo?" The younger girl suggested, a bored look on her face. But Jaimie wasn't fooled.
"You don't have to pretend not to care. We all know how much you love it."
Sasha grinned. "Can we go? Please?"

Brooklynn opened the door. "Hi," she said, kissing his cheek. "Ready to go?" She closed the door behind her. She was a ball of pent up energy, she had to figure something out.

Braden chuckled, "Lets get going then."


Carl smiled walking hand in hand with her to the car,"how's your day been?"

Paige looked down then back at him. "I don't want to seem easy or pushy."

"I get that," Jarid assured her. "How about we go odo something." he suggested.

Sasha bounced up off the seat, grinning.
"Sweater, Sash," Jaimie told her sister, who sighed and went to grab a sweater, nearly at a run.

"It's been alright," Brooklynn replied. "It's still early."

Braden chuckled, "shes so cute."

Carl opened the door, "i gues that's true."

"That sounds great," Paige said. "What would you like to do?"

The day seemed to drag on forever. Jeff had to force himself to focus on his work and not screw up a design someone would have to live with for the rest of their lives. He smiled and was himself as much as he could be with what was on his mind. Why had she kissed him? Hadn't they always just been good friends? He was so lost and it irritated him not knowing.

Ooc: he doesn't know why David I in a coma does he? She told him after the shooting didn't she.

"We could go get some lunch then... just see where the afternoon takes us," he suggested.

Jaimie smiled. "Yeah, she is." she took his hand. "Thanks for staying today."

Brooklynn got in, sliding over so he could get in as well. "And it's better now that you're here."

Sam had spent most of the day sitting on her couch, writing down ways to stop Nikki. Unfortunately most of them could get her arrest or possibly killed. There had to be a away to stop her but everything that had happened with Jeff was making it very difficult to focus. She shouldn't have kissed him. Not like that.


"That would be fun," Paige said as she moved away slightly.

Taking a deep breath Jeff knocked on her door. He had closed the shop a little early. He needed to iron this out.

Sam crawled out from under the blankets she had piled on herself and walked over to her door. She unlocked it and slowly pulled it open.

"Of course," Braden said it as of it were a given, "I'm here for you in whatever you need...whenever you need." He said honestly meaning it from the bottom o his heat.

Carl chuckled," I'm glad you feel that way. "

"Can we talk?" Jeff asked

"Sure," Sam said. She opened her door the rest of the way. "Come in."

He felt so awkward sticking his hands on his jeans pockets. He hated the feeling. She was the one person on earth he had never felt like he had to be someone else around and he loved that but now. He stepped in but didn't walk in and beeline it to the couch like he would normally he just stepped an few feet in and stopped

she closed the door and looked at for a few seconds before turning to face him. "We could just pretend it never happened," she offered.

He let out a laugh that was abrupt and short spunding more like cough than a laugh," you really want us to be those Kinds of friends?" He asked looking at the wall or his feet

"No, but I don't want my best friend to not be able to even look at me," she said softly.

He glanced up at her for moment before his eyes went back to his feet, "ignoring or isn't going to help."

she sighed. "Then lets talk. Do you want to sit down?"

He nodded and headed for the living room

Sam followed him and quickly cleaned off the couch, piling the blankets on a chair. She sat down. "So uhm..." she didn't know what to say

He sat down leaning back his eyes focoused on his hands in his lap, "so...why?"

Why? There were so many reason why. But she couldn't say any of them. "I...have feelings for you."

He had managed to put that Mick together, " I figured as much...I just.. " he leaned forward resting his arms on his knees, "just suddenly out of the blue? I mean you never said or intimated anything like that to me before."

she looked down at her hands. "I wanted to tell you last night but we were drunk."

He finally looked up at her, "so yesterday they just popped up." He knew he was being a bit sarcastic but he didn't understand. She had never flirted with him and suddenly she's kissing him...he was just lost.

How could she explain this to him? "No, maybe the alcohol made me realize that I couldn't keep pretending I felt nothing."

"How long?" He asked his voice soft

she looked up at him. "A few months."

His eyebrows pulled together, "whay about David?" He had merry het only a short bit before her boyfriend had gone into his coma. He had been able to be there for her and their friendship had grown strong from that. He had slays seen her as taken

"Its been two years," she said. "I can't just wait and hope he'll wake up." She sighed. "I've moved on."

"So naturally," he stood up taking s gee steps then turned back to face her," you developed feelings for your best friend." It actually made perfect sense. They spent so much time together and were so comfortable to just be themselves...it made sense
