"She looked worried." Trish noted, "can't say I understood anything that was being said."

"I just asked her for some privacy, which doesn't really happen often." Jaimie replied with a shrug.

Trish nodded glancing at her phone, "its been five minutes "

Jaimie nodded. After taking a deep breath, she went back to the bathroom. The news which waited for her wasn't welcome and made her want to curl up in a ball and cry. She couldn't help but think about how he would have reacted. Sure, they would have been scared at first, but she knew he would have been excited. God he had wanted to marry her and now there was this. But could she do it on her own?

Trish ever so gently tapped her index finder knuckle on the bathroom door that wasn't closed all the way, "you ok in there?"

"Yeah... I guess... Just trying to... Figure things out," Jaimie replied from her seat on the side of the tub. "Rethinking my life."

Trish stepped in and closed the door leaning against the counter,"so you're keeping it?"

"The father... He... He died in the shooting," Jaimie said, her voice soft and shaking. "I can't... I can't kill the last piece of him that I have."

Trish was honestly at a loss. The story kept getting more and more tragic. She felt so deeply for this girl she hardly knew it was breaking her heart, "you don't have to do it alone you know." She finally said after a long pause

"Before Braden... It has always just been me and Sasha. Why not now?"

Trish's mouth turned up in a soft an smile, " because you made a new friend today."

"You don't have to," she shook her head. "Don't feel like you have to. I'd get it if you.. If you didn't want to."

"if you haven't noticed I don't really function as expected," she said with a little chuckle, "unless you don't want me as a friend and you say as much....I'm not going anywhere."

"Thank you." She tossed the test in the trash. "I just... I don't know what to do."

"first you take a deep breath and try to relax ," it was an attempt at humor but it also was true advice

She forced a slight smile. "Yeah I guess. I just... I guess I should tell people."

"if you feel like you need to." Trish wasn't really an advocate of do what others expect she was more of the belief of do what is right and in a manner best fir you.

"Well... Is there really another option?" She asked. "It's not like I can keep it a secret."

She shrugged, "do you owe anyone other than your family an explication?"

"No, I guess not," she replied. "Not that most of my family deserves to know anyway."

"its up to you Jaime but you dont owe anyone anything."

"Thanks Trish," Jaimie sighed. "Have you done this before... You know, talking about this and stuff? You're good at it."

Ooc: I'm curious how Braden would have reacted. What do you think?

She nodded, "i was sort of the unofficial pre-guidance guidance counselor for the unexpectedly knocked up, the drug addicted that wanted help, and those meditating on ending it all."

"Oh," Jaimie nodded. "I see. How did you know? About... Me, I mean."

"The coffee. You seemed fine until you came into close proximity with coffee." She shrugged, " that sets off about 50% of pregnant woman that I've known."

"That makes sense, I guess." She nodded, then put her head In her hands. "I just... I wish he were here."

Trish moved letting down the toilet lid and sitting. She wanted to comfy her but this whole scenario was completely foreign to her. She wasn't sure what to say

"He proposed, you know. I told him I had to think about it, but he was... He said he was happy i didn't say no. I would have said yes, I know that, I knew hat when he asked. But... I needed to... To make sure. To prove to myself that I wasn't rushing into it." She pulled the necklace out from her shirt. "I wish I had said yes."

"Regret won't..." She sighed, "its a beautiful ring. It must have cost a fortune."

Jaimie gave a sad chuckle. "Yeah, probably, knowing Braden." She smiled, remembering.

"He must have cared deeply for you." She offered

"Yeah he did," she smiled. Then, coming back to reality, she shook her head. "I must sound really pathetic," she said, sadly.

Trish frowned, "why would you say that?"

"It's just... He's gone." She shrugged. "All I can think about, most of the time."

"Thats normal, Jaime. You can't get down on yourself for being normal."

She nodded. "Yeah I guess. It just feels... Like I'm not moving on, but it feels wrong."

Trish reached out touching Jaime's knee, "its not even been s month...its a lot to deal with."

"True," she nodded. She sighed. "It's just hard... I'm not good with... With feelings, I guess."

Trish chuckled, "well then you are in for a fun ride."

"I suppose I am." Jaimie smiled sadly. "Are you hungry? I should probably start dinner, or order it, depending on what Sasha wants."
