"I'm gonna go get some air...I'll be back in a few minutes," Brit said. She pulled her jacket off.

Athena nodded sadly. She gave him a quick hug. "Bye."

"Would you like company?" He offered.

She looked at him for a moment, "yeah, that would be nice."

Nicholas pulled off his gloves and the lab coat before picking up his own jacket. "Ok, let's go," he smiled, motioning for her to take the lead.

keller nodded to river and hugged Athena back, "Wish me luck." he said before he left there room. the walk from there to door leading out felt longer than he ever remembered he felt eyes on him as he left but he didn't make eye contact with any of them.

Brit pushed the door open and walked to another door, she opened it and stepped outside.

Athena stood still, forcing herself not to run after him.

the sunshine felt good on his face. he missed the feeling of it. he could feel his eyes fill with tears. he was terrified

Nicholas followed her. Once they were outside, he looked over at her. "So you want to talk?"

Brit glanced over at him, "I just have a lot on my mind."

"Obviously," he drawled. "Anything you'd like to chat about?"

"Tomorrow's my birthday, it'll be the first one I'll be alone," she said. "I guess it's kind of a dumb thing to be upset about."

"You won't be alone," he replied. "Why don't we go out for drinks tomorrow?"

She smiled faintly, "maybe. I'll think about it."

"You can invite your friend... Loren, right?" He grinned. "Let's properly celebrate."

"I'll ask him," she said. "Thanks Nicholas."

"No problem," he replied with a shrug. "Just looking out for you."

Brit smiled, "we should get back to work."

"You're the boss," he said with a nod.

"I just do what I'm told," Brit said. "You're doing a good job, by the way."

"Thanks," he smiled. "Glad you think so."

Brit smiled. "Let's go back in. I'll have to find Loren and see if he wants to go out tomorrow."

Nicholas nodded. "Very well. Is there anyone else you'd like to invite?"

Ooc: sorry about the absence...crazy week and I was in the hospital too so that put a damper on things. Sorry again

Ooc: oh goodness! I hope you're okay!! And that's fine, things happen.

Brit shook her head, "i dont really have any friends."

"You've got me and Loren. That's not no friends," he pointed out. "But you go talk to Loren and I'll get back to work, yeah?" He suggested.

Brit nodded, "yeah. You'll need these," she said handing him the keys

"Thanks"he smiled and took the keys. He could quickly make a copy now, get the key to that cabinet of dangerous chemicals.

"I'll be back soon, just work on what you were," Brit said.

He nodded and turned to go in the direction of the lab.

Brit walked back inside and headed towards Loran's office

Loren was sitting at his desk his head in his hands

Brit gently touched Loren's shoulder. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Nicholas passed the lab, heading towards the men's room. He couldn't copy the key in the lab, especially with the cameras. Once in a stall, he reached into a hidden inside pocket of his coat and pulled out a small case. It was filled with wax. It took only a minute to take an impression of the key and then he was back to the lab to work.

Lorens head shot up at her touch, "oh...nothing...long day."

"Wanna talk about it?" She asked as she sat on the edge of his desk

He shrugged mustering a smile, "you'd probably be bored."

She smiled, "I spent all morning watching water boil, I don't think I'll be bored."

He chuckled, "so how is the assistant working out?"

" really good actually," she said. " he's good at following directions."
