"Sure," he nodded. "I'd like some tea as well."

She nodded and poured to cups of tea. "Do you want anything in it? Milk or sugar?"


Diana stepped into the cell block. "Hello, Xander."

xander had been leaning against the wall and his head slowly raised looking at her, "Diana." he said with little emotion. his eyes flickered to Loren then were fixed back on her face

"I hope you and Brit had a nice chat," she walked toward his cell. "But I hope you don't think she actually cares about you. She needs you to tell her how to finish the serum and she'll do anything to get that information."

not everyone was like Diana and he knew that better than most. he didn't reply just watched her his arms crossed over his chest

"This will be a lot easier if you just tell us what we want to know," she said.

he chuckled, "easier but so much less fun seeing you get all bent out of shape that a little peon like me knows something you don't and something that your brilliant Doctor can't figure out."

"Dr. Tyler will figure it out, it may take a little longer, but with the other things she's working on we may not need the serum. It would be so much easier just to eliminate all those who oppose us," she said. "But if you refuse to cooperate, then Loren will get what we need out of you."

"She won't figure it out." he was sure of that, " and if Loren has to do his thing you might as well just shoot me between the eyes now because you won't get anything out of me...ever."

"Oh, I never said Loren was going to work his magic on you." Diana stepped closer. "That kiss between you and Brit was quite touching. But if she can't make the serum then her usefulness has expired."

Xander swallowed back the lump in his throat, " and if I give it to you and she makes it her usefulness expires anyway."

"But at least you wont be around to watch her die," Diana said quietly. "And if you help I could spare her, I'm sure I could find something to do with her. The labor camps always need new workers."

ooc: diana is going to have an uprising on her hands and perhaps a visit from someone higher on the food chain

"You and people like you are the reason the Union will fail." he said shaking his head, "you play god for long enough and everything will come down around you."

ooc: she thinks she knows what she's doing

"I'll give you time to think about what I've said," she turned to Loren. "Lets go, I still need to wish Brit a happy birthday."

Loren tossed a look towards Xander almost pleading with him. This couldn't be happening...everything was coming apart at the seams.
"You can't just eliminate Union loyalists like that." Loren hissed under his breath once they were out in the hallway

"I have no intention of hurting Dr. Tyler, but Xander doesn't know that." Diana started walking, "I couldn't even if I wanted to, someone in command...wants her kept alive and happy. No doubt to use against her sister later."

"So everything you said to me earlier...what was that to piss me off?" he snapped

She stopped and turned to face him. "Xander told Brit about her parents," she said. "I needed to know where your loyalty's lay. If she decides to believe him she will be considered a traitor, and you know what's done to traitors."

"She's not a traitor until she actually does something about it," he pointed out, "and its your sloppiness that's come back to haunt you."

"And you trust that she wont do anything about it?" She demanded. "And what happens when she finds out her sister is still alive? Think she'll still be loyal then?"

"That is a concern we don't have to deal with quite yet because her sister is very good at not being found." he seethed. she was getting on his last nerve

"We have to prepare, because lets face it Loren, neither of us know what Brit is capable of when pushed. She has enough chemicals in her lab to kill everyone in the building," she snapped.

"She wouldn't do that." he said his voice surprisingly calm, "you are paranoid Diana. have you considered going on vacation?" the question was almost mocking but not quite

"I'm prepared, there is a difference." She said. "Someone has to be because everyone else here seems convinced that Brit would never hurt anyone."

He shook his head, "i didn't say that...she just won't hurt everyone."

"You've seen what her sister can do," Diana insisted. "They're not that different."

He raised an eyebrow, "her sister was kidnapped and forced to be a killer...they see very different."

"Maybe, maybe not." She said. "But I guess we'll find out soon."

He rolled his eyes, "dont ruin her birthday."

"Oh I think you've already done that," she said. "You shouldn't have told her we caught Xander."

He bit his bottom lip anger shooting through him but didn't reply. She knew exactly how to push his buttons

"But I'm sure you'll think of a way to make it up to her," she half smiled. "You always were good at charming the ladies."

He glared at her, " she isn't just someone I want to charm."

"No? Then what is she? Or are you just hoping to use her to get her sister?" Diana asked

"not all of us just use the people around us. Some of us actually care." He said with a little challenge in his voice

She laughed humorlessly. "Why would you care about a girl with no personality or social skills? What's so special about her?"

Was he actually getting to her? He smiled but it didn't touch het eyes, "maybe the fact that she isn't like everyone else around here," he said closing the distance between them, "is what mashes her...intriguing." the last word he said quietly and with care, Tilting his head to his right just a little. Did Diana have a thing for him? He was suddenly curious

She stepped back slightly. "The only intriguing thing about her is that she hasn't board anyone to death, yet. And she has no sense of style," she said, eager to make him see how boring Brit really was.

He shrugged, "maybe." He was enjoing this a little too much for his own good but seeing her squerm as much as she ever did was fun, "she might not have a sense of style but she's loyal and that's a nice quality."

"So are being funny and pretty, she is neither," Diana insisted. "Really Loren, you could do better than her."
