The Union RPG

"What is it?" Graham asked.

"No," Audrey replied, suddenly wondering why she hadn't thought of that.

Xander grinned, "well it can't hurt anything." He Saud as he started looking through the cupboards

"There...should be...." He looked at the blueprints then took a few steps and looked around, "there should be astair case rright here."

"I don't see anything," Graham said, looking around.

"Where did you get those blue prints?" River asked, stepping out of the shadows and into the room. Her gun wasn't up, however it was in her hand, just in case.

Before he could reply to Graham the woman's voice made him jump and spin to face her, "who....you...who are you?" He stammered

"River," she replied with a smile, holstering the gun. She knew Athena was around somewhere. "I don't mean any harm, just wanted to talk."
Graham looked at Tevon, startled by the woman appearing.

"sounds like a line." Tevon snorted hos eyes darting to her gun then hack to her

She put her hands up with a smile. "Look, no harm meant." She nodded to the computer. "You good with that thing?"

He stepped back, "why do you ask."

"I'm with the rebellion. And we're looking for people to join," she said. "And if you're good... well, we could really use you."

"how can I be sure?" he asked then looked over at graham

"How can you be sure of what?" she asked. "That I'm with the rebellion? Well, if I was with the union, you'd be in custody and your computer confiscated.
Graham looked at Tevon and shrugged. That did kind of make sense.

He wasn't 100% convinced but he stopped retreating," ok...so what do you want?"

Athena watched from her position in the shadows, she knew the two men couldn't see her so she watched them and waited, her guns still in her hands.

"Well we can offer you and your friend safety and community," River replied. "In exchange all we'd like is for your help to further our cause against the Union."

Well he did enjoy screwing with the union," what kind of things."

"Intercepting information, helping us keep in contact with operatives, and any general mayhem you'd like," she replied.

Graham looked between the two of them. It sounded like a good deal, but it was Tevon's decision.

" that sounds rather organized" he mused. He had thought of the resistance as being a rag tag group of bandits

"We've been together long enough to know how to work," River shrugged.

He nodded, "ok...so...what are you doing here."

"We were out recruiting. And I could ask you the same question."

"we were...investigating." he said still a bit hesitant

"I see," River gave him a very genuine smile. "And what would draw two young men to this building of all buildings? It's really nothing special."

"I wouldn't be so sure." He said a bit cocky

"Oh really?" she cocked an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?"

" the scimatics and the building don't match up." He said

"You are quite the hacker, aren't you?" she replied. "How did you find the schematics?"

This brought a grin to tevons face," right off union computers."

"You're clearly very talented. But you won't last long without protection. And we can give that to you," River entreated him.

" oh really?" she had a point but he didn't like the insinuation that he needed help

"We can make sure you have all the time in the world to do your work. And that's all you'll have to do. We have food, water, shelter, friends... sometimes we even have fun," she added with a rueful smile. "But the union won't give you the chance. If they find you, you'll either work for them or you'll be dead."

she had a point and a good one. they had guns, they were organized and he...well he was only one person trying to keep his nose clean. his face clearly indicated the thinking his brain was doing right then as he mulled it over, "Am I free to leave if I see fit?" he asked

"Of course," river replied. "We're not the union." If he did want to leave.... Well, perhaps it was a bit of a lie, but they needed him.

"Ok then...I guess...uhm...yeah." what else was he going to say. he wasn't an idiot

"Wonderful. Athena," she called. "Now, as I said, I'm River. And what can I call you two?"

"Graham," he said, then cleared his throat. "I'm Graham."

"Tevon." he said not offering a hand, "you can cal me tevon."

"Fantastic. Once the sun goes down, we can head back to HQ and we'll get you two settled in."

Audrey searched the low cabinets while Xander looked through the high ones. "Find anything?" she asked. peeking up at him.

"Where is your Head Quarters?" Tevon asked. he knew the city well and would know

"Uhm..." Xander said with a pause, "you like tuna?" he asked

"Not far," River replied. "And well hidden."

"Uhm, do I have a choice?" she asked.

"Ok...well there's a lot of day light left before then and I'd like to explore a little." he said plainly, " and there are my things I'd like to get."

Xander chuckled, "there are about three cans of it up here."

"Be careful outside." River cautioned. She would have either August or Athena follow them. She didn't want to lose their hacker.

Audrey laughed. "It's food. Guess we'll have to learn to like it."
