Carl weaved his way through the throng of students and just about as he got to the locker..wham...his books hit the floor as he collided with someone.


ooc: you girls decide which one of you it is



Braden took a second tying his shoes before responding, " it was sort of the board of the schools derision." he had made the choices that had led to his expulsion but he hadn't chosen to loose a year of school

Jarid nodded, the school board was pretty strict like that. "Sorry man," he nodded. "Tough luck, I guess."

"Benefit of the doubt. thanks." he smiled


"I...i'm so sorry," Carl stammered

Brooklynn bent down and scooped up his books. "I wasn't really looking," she said sheepishly. "You okay?" she asked as she offered him his books back.

Jarid shrugged. "No worries," he grinned. "If they could, the board would kick everybody out."

Braden snorted out a chuckle. that actually was probably not too far from the truth

Carl took his book, " that what I get for staring at my feet." he mumbled

"Not like there's anything better to look at," Brooklynn joked, then bit her lip. She was so not funny.

"I'm Jarid," he said after the silence had become a little unbearable for him. He liked to talk. Silence didn't sit well with him.

"Braden," he said putting out his hand for a shake


he wasn't entirely sure if he was supposed to laugh there or not. habitually he pushed his glasses back against the bridge of his nose, " thanks for not...uhm..." not yelling at me for running into you is what he was thinking but in retrospect that sounded like a cowering little slave and he decided to just stop talking.

ooc have you seen Carls pic?

ooc: yes. he's real pretty.

ic: Jarid shook it and the coach blew his whistle, signaling that it was time to get out of the locker rooms.

"What?" Brooklynn asked. "I mean... we bumped into each other. soooo not much to do but pick our stuff." And now she was rambling. She shut her mouth and forced a smile.

ooc: pretty in a feminine way or pretty hot?

Carl nodded awkwardly. he wasn't much of a I will talk to strangers person...especially not good looking strangers.

ooc: pretty as in I love glasses and he's nerdy adorable and ughhhhhhh

ic: "I should get to class," Brooklynn said, her voice betraying despair that she actually had to go. "Sorry for bumping into you."

"It was my pleasure...I mean no big deal." he wanted to kick himself right now. maybe he should say something else something like, " you want to blow off class?" What the?!! oh man his tongue had done it now

ooc: good

Brooklynn grinned and nodded. "Yeah. I really would." No time to skip like the first day, right? "Do you want to?"

her reaction took him aback, " uhm sure," came out of his mouth before he could stop himself. he had never skipped a day of...well anything

Brooklynn grinned, suddenly very taken with the idea. She grabbed his hand and pulled him to a side hallways. "WE can leave that way," she whispered conspiratorially.

Paige walked into history and took a seat near the back. She hated the first day of school, it was always the same, people trying to make good impressions or trying not to care.

he glanced around the thinning herd of students as classes started, " ok." he almost whispered around teh lump in his throat...this was a bad idea...a really bad idea

Peter sauntered in and plopped himself down next to a girl in mostly black, " i'm peter."

"Paige." She took in his expensive clothes and perfect hair. "You new?"

"returning." he replied before the teacher called the classes attention

Paige did her best to pay attention during class but history just wasn't her thing. By the end of class her head was pounding and she was starving. Why couldn't it be lunch time? She didn't know how she would survive a week her, let a lone a whole year.

Jaimie sauntered into class just as the bell rang, giving a sweet smile to the teacher before taking her seat.

Brooklynn let his hand go as she slipped through the side door which lead out to the streets. "Have you ever skipped class before?" his face said no, he looked too nervous for someone who'd done it before.

Carl shook his head, " no...never..not...no." he felt sick but he took a deep breath. it was just one day it was fine, "now where to?"

the history teacher was a babe too, Peter thought.

Braden was a little late to class from gym he tried sneaking in the back quietly

Paige found herself doodling again as her father's latest threat to send her to a military school replayed in her head. She knew he would never do it but after the mood he had been in this morning she didn't know what he would do if she was expelled again. It was like a puzzle she had to solve.

Brooklynn grinned. "First coffee, then we do whatever we want till the next period."

Jaimie looked up to see Braden sneaking into class. Now that was a face she remembered. She sat up straighter, smiling at those memories.

ooc: ok this is ringing a bell...what had gone on between them again?

Braden slumped into his char hoping he had gone unnoticed till he saw a very familiar pair of eyes on him. Oh God no....in his same class. it was bound to happen he supposed but on the first day.

Carl actually managed a nerdy looking half smile, " ok. I know a great little shop not too far from here."

ooc: he and jaimie had a thing before he left. He changed, she did not.

ic: "Perfect," she grinned. "Lead the way.... uhm, I'm sorry. I guess we never introduced ourselves." she laughed. "I'm Brooklynn."

Jaimie gave him a flirty smile. If he was back, well, maybe this year wouldn't be nearly that bad.

ooc: right

He took a deep breath. she had that flirtatious act down didn't she. any man would have a hard time standing up to her..but he had to.

"Oh right...uhm...I'm Carl." he said reaching out to shake her had. it felt formal but what else was he supposed to do

She shook his hand. "Nice to meet you. Are you new like I am? Or have you survived multiple years at this wonderful academy?"

Jaimie sat back in the seat. Good. She'd wondered what had happened to him after the expulsion.

he chuckled, " I've been here a few years."


Braden just hoped she wouldn't talk to him.


By the end of history class peter had summed up everyone in class. who was worth "befriending" and who wasn't worth his time

"I am not jealous of you," Brooklynn replied with a grimace.

"Hey Bray," Jaimie said when the class ended and she followed him out into the hall.

paige shoved her books back into her bag as class ended. she had managed to avoid socialising with anyone so far. She headed into the hall

ooc: How can I successfully include Paige/ I'm not sure how to do that. any suggestions would be great

he chuckled, " its not so bad. most people don't even know I'm there so that helps."


Braden's hear sunk at the sound of her voice. for a moment he debated just walking on and ignoring her but decided to try and be civil, " Hey." he said glancing at her for a second but the continued to his locker.

"Don't seem so happy to see me," Jaimie said, keeping up with Braden easily. "So where have you been? Feels like it's been ages."

"Sounds really nice. I mean, if you have to go there," she pointed her thumb back at the building.

he couldn't help smile again, " yeah well..." he sighed, "I have to go to the best prep school so I can get into Harvard or Oxford according to my father." he started walking

Braden opened his locker, "How did you expect me to react?"

"And what will you be doing at Oxford or Harvard?" she asked as she matched his pace. "Let me guess! Law? Medicine? Or politics? Though I can't say I could see you as a politician."

"Oh, maybe you'd remember the amazing things we used to do?" she asked, leaning against the locker next to her. "Or at least act like you don't hate me? We used to be real close, Bray. Really close."

Carl chuckled sliding his glasses up," oh and what makes you say that?"

Braden looked at her...really looked at her for the first time this conversation, " yeah we were." he couldn't deny that but then she got high and he got busted. that was the end of that romance seeing how he landed in jail for almost a month

"You sort of come of.... as a shy person? I mean, at least in the short time since we met. I could see medicine. You could pass as a doctor. Lawyer would be harder, but you could do it. Politician, it would take a looooooot of work." she amended with a grin. Oh he was so nerdy. She liked it.

"And :"hey" is all i get??" Jaimie asked, pouting prettily. "I expected at least a "how are you?""

Braden gave one nod of acknowledgment tot he fact that he had been rude, " I'm sorry. how are you." his heart sank. a year and a half away wasn't enough...not by a long shot

"shy? who me?" he protested as jokingly as he knew how. this was very foreign water to him. she somehow made it, easier.

"Maybe just a touch," she laughed. "But really, what would you study at some big university?"

"I missed you," she said, running a gentle hand down his arm.

Carl shrugged, no one had ever really asked him that before...ever. he just did as he was told usually, "probably law." his dad was a lawyer and his father before him...yep and it had the biggest paycheck too. that mattered to his parents

"I was sure you would have forgotten me byt now." he said doing his best to ignore her hand on his arm. he body tingled just a little at the memory of her soft skin.

"I could see that," she nodded. "What about law? Well, I guess I mean why?"

"Oh you don't think I could be that cruel, do you?" she smiled. "Did you miss me?"
