Saddle Up the RPG

"Hey, where are you going, I'm over here," she asked, standing up.

he lifted the hat up, " you asked for it Kate!"

"Wait what?! What are you doing with my hat?" she yelled.

he turned around and grinned then turned away from her and started running

She pulled his harder onto her head then clambered over the fence once more and began to leg it after him. "Harry come back here now!"

"make me!" he called over hsi shoulder then darted into the pig pen

"HARRY!" she screamed, pushing herself harder, trying to catch up and rescue her hat before his torture.

he walked into the pig pen and the feeding shed. he looked around and there it was. he climbed up on some boxes and jumped. he landed hard against the next wall btu he had gotten what he wanted done. her hat hung in the middle of the ceiling. he grinned she would have a hard time getting that down

She rushed into the shed and saw what he had done. She gritted her teeth and glared at him before an idea came to her, "Well... two can play at that game," she said, turning the sprinting back toward the house, her plan in place in her mind.

he didn't fallow, " you can do what you want but I'll be able to get it down no matter what. I'm taller!"

She heard his call and just laughed, the fact that he was taller and bulkyer would be just the reason he couldn't retrieve it. She snuck back into the house, checking Jeff wasn't arround, he'd possibly kill her for what she was about to do but she'd done it before. She ran to her room and eased open the tiny window that looked out onto the small roofing that covered the porch. Holding onto the frame she shimmied her way out, through the window onto the roof. She kept close to the wall and used the ledge of her windowsil to climb onto the second story roof. Creeping along she depositied Harry's hat onto the weather vain, it hung there like a flag and she allowed herself a small smile before climbing back to the edge and easing herself down and back through the window. She headded back to the field, figuring that's where Harry would be.

Harry went about doing shi chores

Kate couldn't find him so she got on with her chores, she'd find him later along with their stepladder to retrieve her own hat.

Summer was carrying a bucket and headed to the barn with the cows. She saw that Harry and Kate had been running around. She shook her head, smiling but only a little.

the chores didn't take long and soon the kids were all filing into the house. they shed their shoes. Harry grinned at kate, " ok so where's my hat."

"You'll get a better view of it from the front of the house, I think it makes a great addition," she grinned back.

he shook his head, " you didn't." he said trying not to grin as he darted out of the house

Kate followed him slowly, standing beside him and admiring her work, "I like it, don't you?"

he looked at her crossing his arms over his chest, " you little brat."

She smiled sweetly, "You asked for it."

"I will get you back for this," he said as he assessed the situation

"I'm quaking in my boots," she said still grinning.

he grinned, " oh you should be."

"I seem to think that we've already had a simular conversation today?"

'I'll just make sure that Jeb isn't there to save you this time around." he said looking at her from teh corner of his eye

"Good luck with finding one of those times, he has eyes in the back of his head," she glanced over at him.

he chuckled, " oh just you wait."

"For what?" she asked, challenging him with a grin.

"sweet revenge."

"Well I'll continue to admire the addition to our weather vain while I wait then," she grinned.

he shook his head, " you little stinker."

"You had any plans on how you're getting it back yet?" she asked conversationally.

he chuckled, " getting a latter would be the easiest way."

"Sure I mean that'd get you to the roof but I dunno them tiles can be pretty unstable at times," she replied.

now he was glaring at her, " I'll figure it out."

"Have fun," she smiled.

he made a face then headed back into the house,
" you two better clean up. we're going into town this evening." Jed said in his low solemn voice

"We going for anything in particular?" she asked.

"Your sister is playing at the buck'n Horse Shoe." he replied
