Nicholas repeated that to the waiter who approached them. "So what did your father study?"

"A lot of things," Brit said. "He wanted to cure every disease. He cured a few, there are no more colds thanks to him."

"That is quite an achievement," Nicholas was surprised. "You must be very proud of him."

"Yeah, I am. The Union recruited me because of him," Brit said

Loren practically threw his tazer into the drawer of his desk. They were ago close. He'd have to tell her and she wouldn't be happy that they had stuck out

"That seems to have worked out in your favor," Nicholas observed.

The looting had been somewhat of a success. They ended up with three cabs of peaches, two boxes of wrapped pastries, nine cans of tuna, 2 cans of milk, and 2 boxes of crackers. Xander was pleased but figuring out a way to geT out back was proving difficult

"There has to be something we could use to carry these things," Audrey said, looking around the kitchens. "Perhaps upstairs? A pillow case or something? If this much food was left behind, there has to be some linen left."

"i hadn't thought of that but it's a good idea. Do you think there might be blankets?"

"Worth a look," Audrey agreed before leaving the kitchen to find the stairs.

He hesitated for a moment then followed her, "it seems strange that so much would be...untouched don't you think?"

Audrey stopped and looked over her shoulder at him. "Perhaps.... What are you... Do you think we should leave?"

"on no...I just...I dont really understand how they work."

Tevon nodded, "i can understand that."

So you heard, " Loren sighed

"River does not approve of unnecessary killing," Athena said. "This all could have ended months ago if they would just let me do what I'm best at, instead of going on the scouting trips."


"Yes I heard." Diana said, a sharp edge on her voice. "What the hell happened?"

Audrey nodded. "Then perhaps we should move quickly," she said, continuing up the stairs.

"To be honest," Nicholas leaned in, "I prefer the projects that help people, like the supplements and antidote. I think they're more rewarding."

"Those were always my father's favorites," Brit confided. "He didn't like the projects that could hurt people."

"Demolitions," Athena explained. "Blowing things up is my talent."


"You're going to have to do better next time," Diana said. "If she gives us another chance."

"Exactly," he nodded. "I worry it will hurt more people than it help."

Audrey pulled a door open at the top of the stairs. "Now just to find the linens."

"It could," Brit agreed. "But we have to trust that the union knows what it's doing."

"ah." He said, "sounds...fun."

"she's like a ghost." He sighed, " we need to tell Britt.'

"It is," Athena said, though she couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not. "Seeing buildings crumble to nothingness. It can be very satisfying."


"Why?" Diana demanded. "What good will it do to tell Dr. Tyler?" Her strong dislike for Brit was obvious.

"i can see that.". Tevon nodded heading up the stairs. He enjoyed more internal demolition

"because its her sister." He looked up his brows furrowed, "and it would do good so she can prepare once we do bring her in. Dr Tyler has every right to know."

"It's probably not that different from what you do," she said motioning to his computer.

Diana leaned forward, "as far as Dr. Tyler is concerned her sister has been dead for years. That's what her parents were told by command."

"Maybe. Though I rarely bring whole buildings down...just files here and there."

"and so when her twin sister is brought in for questioning what od the great and mighty plan?" He was starting to really dislike this woman

"You've seen what her sister can do, what are the odds that she will just agree to work for us? And if she doesn't we both know what will happen," Diana said. "If Dr. Tyler finds out that her sister is alive and that we will kill her if needed I highly doubt the brilliant Dr. will feel like helping us."

"Files about what?" Athena asked

"I respectfully disagree." Loren said trying not to clench hos jaw

"Whatever looks important. Don't really have an objective like before."

"If you choose to tell Dr. Tyler then whatever happens is on you," Diana headed for the door. "Don't mess this up, Loren." She said then walked out.


"What did you do before?" Athena asked as they made it back to the first floor.

Loren slammed hos hands against his desk. She was so infuriating!

"i stole secrets for competing componies.." he said with a little shrug, "it wasn't exactly leagal work but it was fun and paid the bills."

Ooc: Is he going to tell Brit?


Athena nodded, "you're obviously good with a computer then. Its a good thing we found you."

"Right," he chuckled, "what do you all have planned for me."

ooc: I think she'll find out eventually either way


She shrugged, "I'm not really sure. We have a few people working inside the Union so you may receive information from them, but its up to River."

"Sounds important," he grinned climbing up the last set of stairs

"It is," Athena agreed. "Its fantastic down there," she said to River when she reached the top.

After they finished eating Brit looked at her watch. "I need to get back to the lab."

Nicholas nodded and stood. He handed his union card to the waiter, who took it. "Back to work," he smiled as the man brought the card back. "Shall we?"

"There is a lot of space," Tevon nodded to the woman who seemed to run things

it took them digging through a few rooms before they found a drawer with the linens
