"Nope," Cam replied a smile. "I don't have anyone who really cares so that makes it easy."

"Really, pretty girl like you with no guy hanging on her arm," he said, though rather glad there wasn't as he glanced over at her to see her reaction.

Cam laughed, the sound not exactly humorous. "Well, there was a guy... and a girl... but he liked younger girls and she.. it didn't work out."

"I'm sorry," he said, not pressing the subject.

"Turn here," Cam said, pointing to the next intersection. "Right." Then she shook her head. "It's nothing to be sorry about. It didn't work out, there's nothing that could be done aobut it."

He took the turning, "Well if it's not too bold to say I think there wouldn't be many women who'd outshine you."

Cam smiled. "It' not too bold, believe me. And is that why I was so lucky to get your attention tonight?"

"Well... it was one of the reasons I didn't let you go when I was mistaken about who you were," he replied, smiling back.

"About who I was?" she asked, "Who did you think I was?"

"I thought you were the guy who nearly sent my flying when he pushed past, I guess I grabbed the wrong hand but I'm glad I made that mistake," he answered, glancing at her again.

"That is a happy mistake then." she replied, smiling back at him. After a moment, she turned her attention back to the road. "you can park in this lot here."

"A very happy mistake," he replied before pulling up where she'd indicated and exiting the car to walk round and open her door for her.

"Thanks," she said as she got out, then took the keys from his hand. She took his hand and led him into the building then up the stairs to her apartment. It took a moment or two to get the key into the lock, but she managed to get it and open the door.

Another little hint toward her alcohol consumption. He was wondering if this was the best idea, he was never one to take advantage. However he let her walk into her appartment before her as he followed, his hand still in hers.

She let go of his hand to walk into the kitchen and drop her keys on the table, then drop her coat over the back of her chair. "Can I get you anything to drink?" she offered.
