Those who know me, know that I like to promote role models of honorable men who, while NOT being chick-whipped weenies, are considerate to women and show love by kindness rather than lust. One of Jane Austen's best specimens of this noble breed is Colonel Brandon in "Sense and Sensibility." Alan Rickman did a great job of portraying Brandon in the recent movie; it must have been refreshing for him, after so many villain roles, to play a likeable good guy.
