He nodded,, "thats always a needed quality in an assistant."

Brit nodded, "do you want to go out for drinks tomorrow night?"

"That would be great." He said with a smile

Brit smiled, " great. I guess I should let you get back to work."

He shrugged, "its not too pressing. Anything else going on?" He asked

She swung her legs for a minute, "well I've hit a dead end with the serum. And tomorrow is my birthday."

"well happy birthday them."

She smiled slightly, "so why has it been such a long day?"

He shugged," so what time we going out?"

"So I was thinking since it isn't freezing outside we could go look for more food," Audrey suggested when she and Xander had finished eating their breakfast.

"Around 8?" She suggested. She wanted to have time to put something nicer than work clothes on

Xander wiped his mouth, " Sounds like a decent plan. our supplies wont last too long."


Loren nodded,"Sounds like a plan, where are we going?"

Audrey nodded and stood. "Yes, the crackers are already getting stale."

"I'm not sure," Brit admitted. "Any suggestions?"

xander chuckled, "yeah they are."


"There are only three bars but would you like to go out to eat first?"

"Should we go back to the hotels? What d you think?" She asked as they left the building.

"Sure," Brit said nodding. She used to go out to eat every birthday with her parents, this would be nice

Xander nodded, "sounds like a sound plan."

"Then should I come get you at your apartment or do you want to meet outside this building?" he asked

Brit thought for a minute, meeting him outside the building seemed like the sensible thing. Him picking her up would make it seem like a date. "We can meet outside the building."

The weather was nice, so the two walked a little more leisurely than they usually would.

A soft beep was heard on Liam's computer, alerting him to the camera's feed, which had identified a face, one Liam recognized immediately. He debated, he didnt want to turn in this man, who had been a friend, but it was protocol. And the man had gone rogue. He was likely a danger to himself and others.

Xander let himself smile into the sunshine. it felt so good

"Sounds good." he smiled, " I'll see you then."

He knew what he had to do. "Loren," he said, finding him with Britt. "Excuse me doctor," he nodded to the woman. "Loren, I've got an ex-union on the streets. Computer confirms it's him."

Loren's eyebrows pulled together, "who?"

Brit stood, "I'll let you get back to work."


Ooc: is Liam going to notice that Brit look like the other girl?

He nodded to the doctor, then looked back at Loren. "Xander Liu," he said under his breath. "Bio-medical engineer."

"Oh my..." Loren couldn't believe it, " I would have thought he would have died by now."

Brit headed back to her lab and pushed the door open. "How's it going?" she asked Nicholas as she walked in.

"Apparently not," Liam shrugged. "He is with another unidentified civilian, so maybe he's had help."

"Good," Nicholas smiled. "Everything seems to be coming together."

"That makes sense. Xander isn't a survivalist so he would have to have help." he shook his head, "get a small reaping party together."

"Its nice weather out isn't it." Xander said quietly

"Great," Brit said as she pulled her jacket back on. "Loren's in for drinks tomorrow night."

"It's beautiful," Audrey agreed. "Better than yesterday."

"Great," nicholas smiled.

"They'll be ready when you are," Liam nodded before leaving.

Brit smiled back. "So how far have you gotten?" she asked returning to her work.

"Good." he said as he headed back to his desk and then walked towards the elevator

"According to this," he motioned to the file, "Almost done."

Liam went back to his desk and summoned the reaping party. They assembled immediately and were waiting for Loren.

Xander slipped into the first hotel they came across, "you think we will have the same luck?"

"Really?" She asked surprised. She stood beside him and looked at the folder. "That's impressive."

"We can hope so," Audrey smiled, following him in. "We got really lucky last time."

He shrugged. "I'm good at following directions."

"Apparently," Brit agreed. "Does it seem to be working? You haven't had any problems combining the chemicals?"

"No problems, no," he nodded. "It all seems to be going well."

"That's good, I'd hoped it would," she said. She looked through the file, "we'll test it when your done."
