Saddle Up the RPG

"Very very casual," she replied with a sultry wink.

Lucy spun around and smiled. "I do, thank you," she replied happily.

Harry smiled as the drinks were given to them, " good to know."



Sarg handed her her glass, " you did great today."

"And yourself?" Janet asked before taking a swig of her beer.

"Thanks," Lucy said again, she was saying that a lot tonight. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

"Very, very casual." he said smiling as he took a small drink


Sarge chuckled, " Lucy I always liked your singing. I mean you were always first in line for any performances in high school."

Janet smiled. "Glad we're on the same page."

That made her blush. "Yeah, I guess that's true. I was a bit of a show off though," she added, embarrassed.

Harry took another drink, " so did you always want to work in a country bar?"


Sarg chuckled, " no you were just confident."

"Never really known what I want to be," she replied with a shrug. "So this works out nicely."

Lucy smiled, looking up at him. "I guess that's another way to put it."

"I like it...open minded. nice." harry said as he took another drink


'what you were. you can't imagine how many of us wanted to have the confidence you had."

Janet grinned and took another drink. "What about you? Have you always wanted to be a cowboy?"

Lucy laughed. "Well you don't seem to be lacking in confidence now," she remarked.

"Pretty much yeah." Harry said confidently, " I always liked being out of doors and this really feeds to that."


Sarge chuckled, " yeah well...it doesn't come as naturally to me."

"Aren't you lucky then? Doing what you love..."

"Could have fooled me. You pull it off very nicely," Lucy replied, taking a drink.

"yeah well there are a few other things I love doing." Harry said winking at her from over his glass


'Thank you. that means a lot coming from you, I mean it."

"We all have our secret little hobbies," Janet replied with a look at him from under lowered lashes.

"You're welcome," Lucy replied with a shrug and a smile.

'Ah..." harry set his glass down, " is there any way to convince you to show me one of your secret little hobbies?"


Sarge took a drink not knowing what else to say to her

"Buy me another drink and I'll consider it," she smirked.

"So what have you been up to? I haven't seen you for a couple weeks," Lucy said after a minute or two of silence.

harry grinned, " another beer?"


Sarge chuckled, " look who's talking, miss " I just vanish and reappear out of thin air." he took a drink, " I've been looking at real estate all over the US."

She nodded. "Yep."

"Real estate? Why's that?" she asked, very interested. He wasn't moving, was he?

Harry ordered two more drinks


"Farming land. My dad is interested in buying farm land in different states." he said with a shrug

Kate watched on as her brothers flirted and sighed, if she tried that any guy would end up with the Spanish Inquisition in his face within two minutes, but them, well it was nothing.

Janet smirked. "So, having considered it, I think I can show you some of my secret hobbies," she said, her voice low.

Lucy nodded. "How did that go?" She couldn't imagine having any more responsibility, especially in another state.

he smiled, " really?"

"Well I think it went well," he said smiling, " not sure yet."

"Mhm," she smiled, setting the bottle to her lips and taking a sip.

"Great," Lucy smiled. "Though I hope that doesn't mean you'll be away from our little town all the time."

"Well..." he took a drink, " are you going to make me beg?"


he chuckled not knowing exactly what to say to that as he took a drink, " I don't think it will."

"I don't know... do you look good when you beg?" she asked, smirking again.

"I just mean that you're one of my good friends and I'd miss you if you were gone," she said, then took a drink. That sounded even weirder.

"Not really." Harry chuckled, " I haven't perfected it."


Sarg smiled, " so I'm a good friend now?" was she just stammering or did she really consider them good friends. they talked once or twice a week at best when they ran into each other in town

"Then I guess you'll have to keep working on it. In the mean time, I'll show you a few things I've perfected," she said, taking another drink.

"Well, yeah." she nodded. "I... I guess I don't get out much," she added with a shrug.

harry raised an eyebrow in anticipation


Sarge nodded, " well...what you say we change that...I mean the you not getting out part."

"Let me finish my drink," Janet laughed.

"Okay," Lucy smiled. "I'd like that."

Harry nodded, " absolutely."


"How are you for Saturday evening...that's in just a few days."

Janet smiled and, shaking her head, she took another swig. "Excited, are we?"

"That sounds great," Lucy agreed, smiling.

"Is it that obvious?" harry asked



Sarge was a little shocked but in a good way," Great...that....great."

"Yes," she answered bluntly, but with a smile.

"I'll have to talk to Jed, but I'm sure one night won't hurt too much," she nodded before drinking the last of her beer.

"Sorry,": harry said as he took a drink


'Would it help for me to talk to him?"

Janet shrugged. "It's fine," she laughed before taking another long drink.


"If you want. But I really don't think it will be a problem," Lucy replied.

Harry watched her as she drank the rest of her beer. she was really pretty



Sarge nodded, " ok." had she really agreed to go out with him? she had turned him down flat in high school and now...he took a deep breath

Janet set down her bottle and smirked. "Ready?"

"What time on Saturday?" she asked. She was sure Jed would be okay with it, after all, she was just going to be out with Sarge.

Harry downed the rest of his drink, " yes."


"What time works for you?"

She took his hand and led him outside.

"Anytime after 6 is fine," Lucy said after a moment of thought.

Harry was trying not to grin to broadly


"How does seven work?" he asked

She brought him back to her car, which was parked behind the building. "We should have plenty of privacy back here," she said with a look around.

"Perfect," Lucy nodded.
