Sarah tooka deep breath and took her time telling her husband what she had been told. she was glad that even in these times she could help...maybe even just a little

it took Yuvati a second to realize the mother was asking her permission instead of telling her. the young girl smiled when the realization hist her, " of course."

Jack reached Danny by cellphone--less likely to be listened in on than police-band radio--and passed the complete information to him. Danny promised to get it quickly into the hands of the vice detectives. Jack thanked him, then clasped Sarah's hand. "Sweetheart, the visiting nurse wanted to transfer you to the hospital today. I talked her into agreeing to let you stay one more night. That's why you were here to take that call from a girl who wouldn't talk to anyone else. God is in command of things, my darling; He gave you the satisfaction of accomplishing one last bit of police work that only you could do."

Another surprise was forthcoming for Yuvati: her future mother-in-law fell to her knees before Yuvati and kissed her hands in humble gratitude.

Meseha clung to Yuvati and sobbed on her shoulder, as if she were a child and Yuvati were her mother. "My people," she choked out, "my Muslim people....have done centuries of violence....both to Hindus and Christians." She tightened her arms around the girl still more. "You have been a Hindu....and you are now a Christian....you should hate me doubly."

Scott closed his eyes twirled in a circle and pointed. Yuvaiy shook her head, " no...no....Christ love and I love. you Walid's mother I can not hate you." she said holding the woman close, " I no hate you." she said softer and kissed the top of the woman's head

Walid hunkered down to wrap his arms around both of the women he loved. He had felt awful about being cut off from his mother by his conversion; but he could not deny Jesus, and his trying to approach his mother would only have made things worse for her. Now, however, she had found the will to escape from abuse; and now he and Yuvati could give her a home with love instead of tyranny. "Thank you, Yuvati," was all he managed to say for the moment.

But Meseha found more words: "My son...and my new daughter...I want to know this God Who gives kindness instead of cruelty. How can I know Him?"

Walid had of course been hoping to hear his mother say exactly this; but he had not expected it so fast. Now his mind was a blank for a moment. Giulietta, who was watching the scene with joyful tears pouring from her eyes, intervened just enough to say, "Meseha, our God is always with us. He heard what you just said, so He will help you to know Him. You are already seeing him in Yuvati and your son."

Giulietta left the rest to Walid and Yuvati.

Melody's inviting words caused Josiah to be as merciless to his clothing as he was gentle with Melody. His trousers, and every other garment he had on, were torn off in a flash; but he regained his gentleness as he helped his wife out of the rest of her clothing.
