But instead of a mantra, his mouth uttered the dispassionate words: "You could have stopped sooner, and it would have been okay. she michanicaly got off his lap and buttoned her one undone button. she put on her cote and looked down at her lap. he had said htat they would stop. had he wanted to go farther? could she have gone farther and still stopped? she had asked him what he would do if she cdouldn't elope in the next few days and he semed..she didn't know, difrant.

OOC: Ranjit doesn't mean that the actual wedding must happen within a few days; he means that he'll be steamed if she BREAKS THE ENGAGEMENT tomorrow. I did not understand Glenda to be asking what he would do if the wedding were postponed; after all, Glenda was the one who suggested the elopement in the first place, as well as being the one who initiated serious making out in the car.

~ ~ I've been trying to figure out what was in YOUR mind. I have not yet found anything to confirm this: She had asked him what he would do if she couldn't elope in the next few days.... But I'll post based on the perception that she has NOT actually asked him out loud about if they can't elope soon:

Ranjit gazed in bafflement at Glenda. "Am I missing something, sweetheart? I thought we had good communication, but maybe we don't. Do you want me to start making out again? Do you want to go straight home? I'm still open to every choice but going all the way. And I still consider the plan of elopement-when-possible to be on, unless you are having cold feet about that as you warned me."
